It’s election time at Bridge Street Middle School. Mia is a candidate for class president. She is running to promote unity among the students. At Bridge Street Middle School, students come from two rival elementary schools. Mia is concerned that there is some tension between students during their first year here. She has several ideas to help students be a united school body.
Mia gave a speech to the student body last week. In her speech, Mia said that student unity could be promoted by working together. This will help students get to know each other and work toward a common goal. She proposed organizing a fundraiser for the sports program at Bridge Street School. The candidate also intends to start a new tradition. She wants to have a student fun day at the beginning of each year. She gave a speech that was well received. Next week, the election will take place. Mia hopes she will win.
